Bi-Rite Creamery was founded in 2006 in San Francisco’s Mission District by two passionate bakers, Kris Hoogerhyde and Anne Walker. United by a vision to craft irresistibly delicious ice cream that brings joy to the community, they set out to balance exceptional flavor with sustainable practices—like giving new life to strawberries and bananas that might otherwise go to waste in delightful ice cream flavors. Each scoop is thoughtfully made using locally sourced ingredients, organic, peak-of-season fruits, and housemade inclusions.

Whether it’s Guittard Chocolate, milk from Strauss Family Creamery, buffalo milk from Double 8 Dairy, or coffee from Ritual Coffee Roasters, Bi-Rite’s ice cream showcases the best of Northern California’s ingredients. Their from-scratch creations are layered with housemade jams, cookies, and cake bits—crafted to spark pure happiness.
