Mubarak Malik, known as “Bar,” is a former Director of Performance for the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers. Throughout his career, Bar has worked with big names like LeBron James, Wayne Ellington, Carmelo Anthony, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Seacrest, Halle Berry, and Andrew McCutchen. With a background in sports science and nutrition, Bar developed Barcode while working for the Knicks. He recognized the need for a healthier alternative to existing sports drinks and created Barcode, the first plant-based performance drink on the market, featuring added benefits and ingredients like Vitamin D, B6, B12, magnesium, and adaptogens. Bar spent about 2.5 years perfecting the formula and began giving it to players, who all liked it. Eventually, he introduced Barcode to people outside the gym and found that it was widely appreciated.
