Banyan Wines
Santa Rosa, CA
Banyan Wines was created specifically to make wines that pair with Southeast Asian cuisines—salty, spicy, sour, sweet, and incredibly delicious. The winery currently produces only a single super-popular wine: their Banyan Monterey County Gewürztraminer. Their grapes grow on old vines at the Ventana Vineyard in the Arroyo Seco American Viticultural Area (AVA) of Monterey. It's a windy, foggy, cool area, with a long growing season and consistently low temperatures. This gives Banyan's winemakers the ability to pick grapes at a specific ripeness with a balance of sugar and acidity to create the intensely aromatic wines they produce.
