Ampelos Vineyard and Cellars
Founded by the Work family in 1999, Ampelos Vineyard is 82 acres in the Santa Rita Hills. Named “Ampelos,” the Greek word for vine, the name has a two-fold purpose. First, the Works believe that all great wines start in the vineyard. Secondly, they have close ties with Greece; they were married there and own a small bed & breakfast on the island of Folegandros.
Their vineyard is one of the first in the US to be certified Sustainability in Practice, Organic, and Biodynamic. Their commitment to eco-friendly, organic farming and winemaking is evident in every sip.
