Almanac starts this beer off by selecting their favorite Dogpatch Sour barrels (a Flanders-style ale), and piling them high with fresh, tart, tangy blackcurrants. When the fruit and beer meet, secondary fermentation kicks off, blending into a fantastically complex barrel-aged ale that's a deep burgundy in color. You'll get a well-developed sourness that's rich in red-fruit and currant flavors, but also almost dangerously easy to drink. To bring out its sweetness, try pairing it with meat roasted or braised with fruit.
